History
Reed Group (formerly Reed Research Group, Inc.) is a pioneer in the field of managing employee medical absence from work. Presley Reed, MD founded the company in 1981 to address absenteeism and productivity issues in the workplace. Reed Group is an industry leader in developing tools and services to assist employers, claims administrative services, case management companies, insurance carriers, government agencies and third-party administrators with managing worker absenteeism.
Reed Group, a privately held company, has been providing medical disability management and other leave of absence services to its clients since 1994, and FMLA administration services since 1998. Reed Group has researched and published the industry standard disability duration guideline reference, The Medical Disability Advisor, now in its Fifth Edition, since 1991. Dr. Presley Reed, in addition to his roles as Chairman of the Board and Chief Medical Officer, is the Editor-in-Chief. In 1994, the first customer bought MDA Case Manager.
More than 600,000 covered lives are managed by Reed Group's cost-effective outsourced services, over 60 firms worldwide have licensed Reed's MDA Case Manager software product to manage disability and absence reporting in-house, and over 20,000 end users use Reed Group's industry-standard The Medical Disability Advisor duration guidelines reference tool in their day to day operations. Reed Group is comprised of our corporate headquarters, located in Westminster, CO, and two service centers; one in Westminster, CO, and the second in East Greenbush, NY.
