Reed Group’s Executive Team
Michael Sayre, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Sayre provides leadership for all functional areas of the business, setting strategic direction for Reed Group, driving internal operating improvements, and facilitating clear and consistent communication with Reed Group constituents. His primary goal is to ensure that our customers receive exceptional service at all times. He has a long, successful record of operational improvement at numerous organizations in both line role and consulting capacities. Prior to his involvement at Reed Group, Mr. Sayre was Vice President at Audax Group, a leading middle-market private equity firm; SVP, Operations at Harcourt Education, a global information publishing firm; and a principal at Parthenon Group, a strategic advisory/consulting firm.
Ron Hays, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Hays has responsibility for overseeing Reed Group's shared services function. In this capacity, he is responsible for Reed Group's finance, human resources, legal, facilities, and IT departments. In addition, he works closely with the CEO to drive strategic initiatives for Reed Group. He has more than 20 years of financial management experience including CFO of Seamobile, Inc./Maritime Telecommunications Network, Inc., and various financial positions at McCaw Cellular Communications and BellSouth Corporation (now part of AT&T).
Jon Seymour, MD, President, Guidelines
Dr. Seymour joined Reed Group in 2008 to revolutionize The Medical Disability Advisor and to build out the Guidelines business with new content, functionality and expertise. The leading reference on disability durations is now the foundation for a broader portfolio of integrated data and content on occupational health, including clinical treatment guidelines, medical and statutory return to work considerations, and predictive and preventive recommendations. Dr. Seymour has been involved in electronic medical publishing for over 20 years. He founded Gold Standard, an innovator in online drug information and medical education, and was CEO of the Clinical Tools Division and Chief Medical Officer for Wolters Kluwer Health, the world’s leading medical publisher.
Kevin Curry, Senior Vice President, National Practice Leader
Mr. Curry brings more than 15 years of experience in Integrated Absence management and consulting to Reed Group. As Practice Leader, he is responsible for setting and facilitating Reed Group's absence and disability business, with focus on technology, content and services. Before joining Reed Group, he was a well-known and highly respected senior absence management consultant in Mercer's Total Health Management practice, where he helped numerous employers achieve cost reduction and productivity improvements in FMLA, disability and broader employee absence management activities. Kevin is a frequent speaker at industry conferences in the areas of Integrated Absence, Health & Productivity. Prior to his work on behalf of employers at Mercer, Curry held various leadership positions at CORE Inc.
David Roberts, Chief Technology Officer, Reed Group Software
Mr. Roberts leads Reed Group's software division. In this capacity, he has oversight of product definition and development, client services and implementation, quality, production support, and technical operations. Mr. Roberts brings Reed Group and its clients nearly twenty years of enterprise software experience including development and deployment and enterprise‐wide change in both private sector and public sector organizations. Most recently, Mr. Roberts worked for John Hickenlooper as the Chief Services Officer for the City and County of Denver and was charged with bringing private sector management skills to the City. During his tenure, David defined the strategies and drove change that improved the City’s customer service and business operations. Prior to this role, David was a Partner with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), where he worked for almost 17 years. In recent engagements, David was responsible for delivery of a major benefit management solution for the UK Government and providing management and technology services to a variety of Fortune 500 clients, including technology firms such as Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, and Siemens.
John Apholt, Senior Vice President, Service Operations
Mr. Apholt brings Reed Group 18+ years of clinical call center and service operation experience. He has an extensive background in clinical case management, disease management, healthcare and services. He has led operations, managed nurses, and deployed metrics and tracking at LifePlans, CorSolutions, PacifiCare and Fidelity, leading to significant operational and performance improvement in each case. To ensure service and operational consistency across Reed Group, all service center, implementation, service quality and data analytics functions report to Mr. Apholt.
Marti Cardi, JD, Chief Compliance Officer
Ms. Cardi is responsible for ensuring that Reed Group services are provided in compliance with state, federal, and local leave and employment laws. Her team tracks legislative proceedings, trends, and case law on an on-going basis. Ms. Cardi's expertise in employment law and leave compliance includes more than 25 years as in-house employment counsel for national companies and in private practice with Denver law firms, where she provided clients with advice and counsel on employment compliance matters and represented clients in state and federal courts and agency proceedings.
Karin Lindgren, JD, General Counsel
Ms. Lindgren brings Reed Group 25 years of experience as a corporate healthcare IT lawyer. She has a wide-ranging background providing strategic advice and counsel to healthcare technology organizations, payers and healthcare providers involved in medical informatics, ecommerce, software, EMRs, clinical data analytics, database and data warehousing activities. Currently also on faculty at Northwestern University, teaching in NU's graduate program in medical informatics, Ms. Lindgren was the General Counsel and Corporate Compliance Officer for the University HealthSystem Consortium in Chicago for many years, and was a partner in law firms in Los Angeles and Chicago where she conducted jury trials in over 20 states.
Heather Rollins, Vice President, Human Resources
Ms. Rollins joined Reed Group in March 2004 at the opening of the Colorado Service Center and held the positions of Administrative Manager and Human Resource Generalist prior to being promoted to Director of Human Resources in 2008 and Vice President in 2010. Before joining Reed Group, she worked for a major government contractor and the Department of the Army in a variety of fields, including advertising, government contracting and training.
Presley Reed, MD, Chairman, Reed Group Board of Directors
Dr. Presley Reed, the founder of Reed Group, is an internationally recognized expert in disability, workplace absence and productivity, workers' compensation and occupational health. Presley is Chairman of the Board of Directors and works with the management team to set strategic direction for Reed Group's activities and investments.
