Michael Sayre, Chief Executive Officer
Michael Sayre provides leadership for all functional areas of the business, setting strategic direction for Reed Group, driving internal operating improvements, and facilitating clear and consistent communication with Reed Group constituents. He has a long, successful record of growth and operational improvement at numerous organizations in both line role and consulting capacities. Prior to his involvement at Reed Group, Mr. Sayre was Vice President at Audax Group, a leading middle-market private equity firm; SVP, Operations at Harcourt Education, a global information publishing firm; and a principal at Parthenon Group, a strategic advisory/consulting firm. Mr. Sayre holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.B.A. from The Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
Ron Hays,
Chief Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer
Ron Hays has responsibility for overseeing Reed Group's shared services function and financial operations. In this capacity, he is responsible for Reed Group's finance, human resources, legal, facilities, and IT departments. In addition, he works closely with the CEO to drive strategic initiatives for Reed Group. He has more than 20 years of financial management experience including CFO of Seamobile, Inc./Maritime Telecommunications Network, Inc., and various financial positions at McCaw Cellular Communications and BellSouth Corporation (now part of AT&T).
Jon
Seymour, MD, President, Guidelines
Dr. Jon Seymour joined Reed Group in 2008 to grow Reed Group’s former Medical Disability Advisor to a new level of innovation. Under his leadership, the resulting product, MDGuidelines™, is now the industry’s most comprehensive web-based return-to-work toolkit, with a broad range of vital information and tools for disability, workers’ comp, FMLA and other leaves of absence, and occupational health. Dr. Seymour has been a thought leader in electronic medical publishing for over 20 years. Before joining Reed Group, he founded Gold Standard, an innovator in online drug information and medical education, and was CEO of the Clinical Tools Division and Chief Medical Officer for Wolters Kluwer Health, the world’s leading medical publisher. Dr. Seymour holds a B.A. from Duke University and an M.D. from University of Florida Medical School, where he graduated with Honors for Distinguished Research and Special Achievement.
David Roberts, President, Software and Technology
David Roberts leads Reed Group's software business. He is responsible for LeavePro™ product definition and development, client service, implementation, and system operations. Mr. Roberts brings Reed Group and its clients twenty years of enterprise software experience including development, implementation and enterprise-wide change in large private and public sector organizations. Most recently, he was a top advisor to John Hickenlooper as the Chief Services Officer for the City and County of Denver. In this role, he brought private sector management skills to improve the City’s customer and business operations. Prior to the City, Mr. Roberts was a Partner with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), where he ran numerous consulting practices and Fortune 500 client engagements for 17 years. Mr. Roberts holds a BA in History from Dartmouth College.
Kevin
Curry, Senior Vice President, National Practice Leader
Kevin Curry brings more than 15 years of experience in Integrated Absence management and consulting to Reed Group. As Practice Leader, he is responsible for setting and facilitating Reed Group's absence and disability business, with focus on technology, content and services. Before joining Reed Group, he was a well-known and highly respected senior absence management consultant in Mercer's Total Health Management practice, where he helped numerous employers achieve cost reduction and productivity improvements in FMLA, disability and broader employee absence management activities. Mr. Curry is a frequent speaker at industry conferences in the areas of Integrated Absence, Health & Productivity. Prior to his work on behalf of employers at Mercer, Curry held various leadership positions at CORE Inc.
John
Apholt, Senior Vice President, Service Operations
John Apholt leads Reed Group’s outsourced case management operations function, including clinical and administrative activities, training, and vendor management. He brings to Reed Group and its clients 20+ years of health care and benefits operations management experience and has led a number of strategic initiatives at Reed Group to provide enhanced levels of service to Reed Group’s customers. In previous roles he has led large complex operations and managed outcomes performance for CorSolutions Medical, Fidelity Investments, PacifiCare Health Systems and Sun Life Financial, leading to significant operational improvement in each case. He has an extensive background in clinical case management, disease management, long-term care, health care services and third party administration. Mr. Apholt holds a B.A. from Providence College and is pursuing a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Norwich University.
Marti
Cardi, JD, Chief Compliance OfficerMs. Cardi is responsible for ensuring that Reed Group services are provided in compliance with state, federal, and local leave and employment laws. Her team tracks legislative proceedings, trends, and case law on an on-going basis. Ms. Cardi is the chief author, editor, and content expert for Reed Group’s Leave of Absence Advisor, an in-depth referential guide to the Family and Medical Leave Act and state leave laws. Ms. Cardi's expertise in employment law and leave compliance includes more than 25 years as in-house employment counsel for national companies and in private practice with Denver law firms, where she provided clients with advice and counsel on employment compliance matters and represented clients in state and federal courts and agency proceedings. She is admitted to practice in Colorado. Ms. Cardi holds a B.A. from Colorado State University and a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law, and is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.
Karin
Lindgren, JD, General Counsel
Karin Lindgren brings to Reed Group 26 years of experience as a corporate health care IT lawyer. She has a wide-ranging background providing strategic advice and counsel to health care technology organizations, payers, and health care providers involved in medical informatics, ecommerce, software, EMRs, clinical data analytics, database, and data warehousing activities. She currently is also on faculty at Northwestern University and the University of Colorado, teaching in their graduate programs in medical informatics. Ms. Lindgren was the General Counsel and Corporate Compliance Officer for the University HealthSystem Consortium in Chicago for many years, and was a partner in law firms in Los Angeles and Chicago where she conducted jury trials in more than 20 states.
Heather
Rollins, Vice President, Human Resources
Heather Rollins held several operations positions at Reed Group prior to being promoted to Director of Human Resources in 2008 and Vice President in 2010. Before joining Reed Group, she worked for a major defense contractor in a variety of roles, including training and human resources. Before that, she spent five years working in the advertising industry. Ms. Rollins holds a B.A. from Northern Arizona University and a dual M.A. in Human Resources Development and Management from Webster University.
Lucy
Shannon, Director of Editorial Research and DevelopmentLucy Shannon drives the content research and development behind The Medical Disability Advisor, which is now part of Reed Group’s web-based, return-to-work toolkit, MDGuidelines. She is responsible for new product initiatives within the Guidelines business, including an integration of data and content on occupational health, clinical treatment guidelines, medical and statutory return-to-work considerations, and predictive and preventive recommendations. Before joining Reed Group in 2001, she worked with banking and engineering firms on issues of accounting and compliance. Ms. Shannon has 11 years of experience with Reed Group and holds a B.S. from the University of Oregon.
Beth
Perez, Vice President, Account Services
Beth Perez oversees the Account Management and Outcomes and Business Analytics departments
at Reed Group. She applies her nearly 20 years of health care industry experience
to ensure that Reed Group’s clients receive professional, outcomes-driven
account oversight, reporting, and analysis.
Before joining Reed Group, she was a member of Boston Consulting Group’s health
care practice. Her extensive experience includes health care strategic planning,
business development and operations in various health care industries including
biotechnology and medical devices. Ms. Perez holds a B.A. from the University of
Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
Christy Traupe, Director of Operations
Christy Traupe has overseen Reed Group’s Colorado Service Center, which provides
absence case management for clients. In this capacity she has oversight of the Colorado
service team, manages and provides senior counsel to supervisors, acts as an escalation
resource for service matters and ensures that Reed Group’s industry leading
quality standards for all services are met. Before coming to Reed Group, Ms. Traupe
worked for Omni Financial. She holds a BS in business management from Metropolitan
State College of Denver.
Kara
J. Conley, RN, MS, Vice President Outcomes
Kara Conley works closely with Reed Group Sales, Operations and Account Management
to deliver quality services that provide a return on investment for Reed Group clients.
Before joining the company, she managed an occupational health clinic at Ball Aerospace &
Technologies Corporation where her responsibilities included disability and worker’s
compensation case management and employee health and wellness. She holds a BS in
nursing from Illinois Wesleyan and an MS in Nursing from Regis University.
