gavelIn a recent court ruling, Judge Richard Posner, of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, cited Reed Group’s DisabilityGuidelines™ as a pivotal tool in the decision making process for Kauffman v. Petersen Health Care. The court ruled on behalf of the plaintiff, finding that her employer failed to provide a workplace accommodation following her surgery. Judge Posner offered the following opinion based on DisabilityGuidelines™: “… we note that most doctors recommend not lifting more than 50 pounds ever after the type of surgery she had.”[i] You can read the full text of the ruling here.
